About the HMS Team
Alison Harris, President

Alison Harris founded Harris Media Services in 2000 after 20 years of experience in the publishing industry. Her background includes extensive experience with trade journals and newspapers, trade show and conference development, and public speaking.
“As editor of a technology trade publication, I met hundreds of companies and listened to thousands of pitches. I quickly realized that it was too easy to overlook good products and services that weren’t presented well,” says Harris. “I launched HMS to help companies ensure they would be heard.”
Prior to launching HMS, Alison was editor, then publisher of IT Support News, a monthly business newspaper for information technology support professionals published by United Publications. IT Support News won numerous awards from organizations including the Computer Press Association and the Ozzie Awards. While at United she also launched CC News, a monthly business newspaper for call center and customer care professionals.
In addition to managing HMS, Alison has served on the board of TechMaine, the Technology Association of Maine. She is a judge for the Association of Support Professional’s annual “Ten Best Web Support Sites” competition. Reach Alison at alison@harrismediaservices.com or follow her on Twitter at @AlisonHMS.
